Dear Parents,
First of all, we are hoping everyone is well and hanging in there with our current situation. We will strive to do our best during these times educationally, but our health and well being comes first. If you have the opportunity to come and get the packets for your child it will serve as a review and as a form of keeping our kids learning and offering them some stability in their education. We would also like to refer you to some uploaded videos Mr. Vela has recorded for the lessons that we are currently missing out on for math. Our grade level left off with the concept of time and it would be great for them to see the videos and follow them as best possible. As for reading, the packets include stories with comprehension questions where they can continue to practice their reading skills and strategies. Please keep students reading at home different types of genres from literary fiction, informational text, poetry and introducing them to drama (plays) which was our next goal in reading. As teachers, we understand how some of these tasks will seem challenging at times, but children need to keep going forward. We are here for you and will try to assist you as best we can through updates on our websites and those connected to class Dojo with questions. Mr. Vela's videos are located on our school website. Click on Faculty/staff then find third grade teacher list and click on Mr. Vela's link. He then gives instructions on how to view the videos. Your children also have access to Prodigy and have their username and password. There are many educational links that will also assist in learning. Once again, we are thinking of you and your child's academic well being. Take care and we will keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Third Grade Teachers
